Fashion Show

Mon Sep 22, 2008, 5:42 PM
I had an opportunity to shoot at a local fashion show this past weekend. I am not into fashion stuff but my fellow "fashion" photographer asked me to join him for fun so I went with my camera.

It was not easy task.... I was shooting with manual focus, prime lenses and no flash while the other photographers were firing their flash ? flashes like a war zone. Oh and those models never stop moving. The stage/runway was barely lit with some weak lights...

I would probably never do it again. After all, why would I like to take people with clothes on..?? LOL

a couple of updates

Sun Jul 27, 2008, 6:20 PM
Baltimore Erotic Festival -

FUN! I absolutely felt at home...lol Met a whole bunch of freaks (I mean great artists and performers..) and the night was one of the best times. I could have stayed there all night but all goods things come to end... I look forward to a next one. I was taking photos of my freak friends who were performing some incredible show and I will post some photos as soon as I get a permission from them.

Delaware Meet and Greet -

I joined many photographers and models (some first timers) at Rehoboth Beach in DE this past Sat and really enjoyed being on the beach. The theme of the beach shoot out was "beach ball" which was, to be honest, challenging. It just did not suit to my style.. What would you do with a beach ball???

I worked with two models, a fine young couple who recently visited my home country. Listening to them about what they appreciated during their stay, it was like walking on the beach with good friends of mine (or my children... as far as age is concerned...lol). It was truly relaxing:}

Many thanks go to the organizer and all the attendees!

solar power

Sun Jun 15, 2008, 6:13 PM
yes, free of charge

I have been flying in single engine planes for some time but it is hurting my wallet these days as the cost never stops increasing (gas price, that is..) ....

I have sold all my film cameras and even film scanner, and my photography is 100% digital now. Apart from the initial investment cost of equipment, almost nothing gets out of my wallet unless I hire models... Awesome!

hmmm... How Can I keep flying without hurting my wallet??

One of my colleagues runs a glider club in Frederick, MD, and I was invited to fly with him this afternoon. I had heard many great things about flying in the glider and I was very much exited about flying myself.

The whole operation is totally different from flying with the powered plane.

***That thing has no power... you tow or push it over the grass field from the hanger to the runway.

***Most of glider pilots fly with the parachute on their back.... ohhhh just in case... I have never done sky diving before.. They told me to "jump out of the plane and pull the ring hard". OK, that is easy enough....

***In order to climb, you basically follow the clouds, find a thermal and keep circling in there. Fairly steep turn (~45 degrees) and this would make you sick...

***Approach (to the runway) was almost "gonzo". Extremely steep descent and turn to the runway. Almost no flare and you hit the runway "bong" and pull over onto the grass field....

***A lot of people told me that it is almost soundless... Hmmm. not quite. Pilots can talk in the cockpit with no intercom but you hear a lot of wind noise through the canopy....

All in all, it was a very unique flying experience and I had a great time. I am still not sure if I absolutely love it but I cannot ignore the fact that it will lower my flying cost significantly. That thing flies with the solar power!! No oil (let's ignore the tow plane!).

Another way to use the free energy source:)
